Activities:
Fennel, fruits: Used for millennia as an antimeteoric and for intestinal bloating, this plant reduces flatulence and bloating, calms gastrointestinal spasms. These activities are due to a small presence of an essential oil contained in the seeds of the fruits and substances such as dianethole, dianisoina and mucilages
Anise, fruits: This plant contains 1-5% of essential oil and its unique composition gives its complex antispasmodic, antibacterial and anti-fermentation activities which are particularly expressed in the intestinal tract. Beside its antispasmodic activity on gastro-intestinal muscles, Anise also stimulates gastric secretion and saliva.
Angelica, root: The extract of this plant contains a modest amount of essential oil rich in alchilftalidi in particular z-ligustilide, ferulic acid, polysaccharides and other compounds. The action of this plant complex is on smooth muscle contraction (antispasmodic action) and on antihepatotoxic contraction. It actually appears that Angelica extract protects the liver from the harmful action of toxins
Melissa, leaves: The essence fraction contains citral, citronellol, geraniol, nerol and linalool. The complete plant extract contains phenolic acids such as rosmarinic, caffeic and chlorogenic acids, flavonoids (cinaroside, isoquercetin), triterpenes (ursolic acid ) and mucilage. Flavonoids and triterpenes are responsible for antispasmodic and sedative actions, while the essential oil components possess stomachic and carminative properties, also stimulating coleresis and diuresis
Coriander, fruits: This drug contains a good amount of essential oil having spasmolytic, bactericide, antiseptic and anti-fermentation actions in the intestine. The extract is therefore specifically indicated when a sense of fullness is accompanied by flatulence
Cardamom, seeds: This is used as a component in carminative and digestive preparations. The volatile fraction also contains acetate terpinile and cineol, limonene, linalool and zingiberene
